Feb 13, 'Natural' Cleaners May Soon Require New Labeling Standards

The Natural Products Association, a Washington-based group representing manufacturers and retailers including Clorox Co. and Whole Foods Market, plans to release new standards Thursday for natural home care products.

With more and more home-cleaning products that call call their ingredients "natural" appearing on store shelves, an industry group is trying to clarify what the term means and whether manufacturers are using it appropriately.

Natural generally means that the product's ingredients are derived from renewable resources like plants and minerals. But there is currently no uniform standard among manufacturers for use of the word in home-care products and many synthetic ingredients may actually be in these products.

To display the seal, products will have to meet criteria including the following: 95 of the ingredients in the product, excluding water, must be derived from natural sources. Non-natural ingredients should be used only when alternative natural ingredients are unavailable. The product should contain no ingredients with suspected human health risks. NPA says it is reviewing full ingredient lists from manufacturers who have applied for certification to determine whether their products qualify. The seal will be seen on products in the next several months.

Feb 20, Glimpse Skin Care Helping Reduce Pores

I have been using Glimpse Skin Care for several months now and have been very excited about the results. My pores are smaller and my skin is staying smooth and soft. Normally in winter, my skin is very dry. I especially like the idea of the mangosteen fruit being in skin care because of the a antioxidants that are present. This helps to fight skin aging and also helps to nourish my skin from the outside. Because Glimpse it is nontoxic and green, I don't need to worry about the dangers of paraben preservatives and phthalates which are found in 72 of all cosmetics.

Nov 11, The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry

While attending the XanGo convention this past weekend, Dr Frederick Templeton detailed much scientific information about the dangers of phalates and parabens that are in many personal care products. He explained how these ingredients act as pseudo estrogen in the body, which in turn may cause early puberty in girls and possible cancer later in life. He also explained that male birth defects and male infertility are on the rise, which he believes is also attributed to these "gender bending" hormone disruptors.

Next I got to hear from Stacy Malkan, author of "Not Just a Pretty Face" and also chairman of the Environmental Working Group. Stacy exposed the ugly side of the beauty industry and challenged us to get involved in becoming instruments for change.
I have read Stacy's book and it makes me so angry at the cosmetic industry over their lack of concern for public health and safety. It also makes me all the more determined to get the word out about the dangers of toxic ingredients in so many personal care products.
It was after this that beauty expert Beverly Hollister told us about XanGo's new clean and green, nontoxic Glimpse skin care formulas.
After the session,I was able to go up and shake Beverly's hand and speak with her personally. When I got near to where she was standing, I over heard the woman in front of me asking Beverly which cosmetic line she recommended, since Glimpse does not yet have a cosmetic line.

I heard Beverly reply to the woman that Miessence organic cosmetics were a good choice. I agree that Miessence does have some wonderful organic personal care products, and they are cosmetic products which I also recommend.

This weekend, I was privileged to attend XanGo's 6th annual convention where I heard beauty experts Beverly Hollister and Misha Hughes give the details of XanGo's new salon grade skin care formula's called Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care. Glimpse is nontoxic, topical skin nutrition which is mangosteen based.
Special Japanese technology called Bio ActiveX3 complex helps your skin renew its youthful ability to help stimulate natural collagen growth.

I was very excited to hear the details of this clean and green topical skin care product which will be an effective and healthier alternative to botox and micro abrasion. Visit the link below to see a video that explains more.

Nov 2, Mary Kay's Top Recruiter, Pam Valli Now Promoting XanGo's Glimpse Skin Care Formula's

I was privileged this week, to hear a live phone interview with Pam Valli, the woman who was a top Mary Kay cosmetics consultant for 16 years. Pam joined Mary Kay in 1992, earned her first car in 6 months and became a Director in just 11 months! Only 2 of the people in Mary Kay join the ranks of directorship.

She went on to become the National "Queen of Recruiting" in 1994, which means she sponsored more people in one year than any one else in the company.
Pam repeated this incredible accomplishment in 1997, again recruiting more people that any one in the company. To date, in the 45 year History of Mary Kay, there has only been 5-6 people to do this, not once, but twice.

In Pam's interview, she told how four years ago, due to her grueling schedule, her health had taken a turn for the worse. She had reached a state of exhaustion, and was by then on several medications. While attending a business networking group, one member insisted she take home a bottle of XanGo mangosteen juice to try for her health. She hesitantly took the juice home with her, tried it and decided to order more. She said that within a month and a half, her health had improved to where she was able to go off of six medications, and was feeling so much better that she began telling her Mary Kay colleagues about XanGo.

Now, after four years of good health with drinking the mangosteen juice, Pam exclaimed that she almost felt like turning cart wheels in her kitchen, when she heard that XanGo was now coming out with a mangosteen skin care line.

Having been a skin care specialist for so many years, Pam detailed how excited she was that Glimpse skin care formulas will be clean and green, and how the bio-active formulas will have the ability to address each user's individual skin problems. Pam detailed how this alternative will be as effective as, and much healthier than receiving botox treatments for those who are serious about improving their skins health and appearance.

I was fascinated with Pam Valli's story about her experience in the skin care industry and about her enthusiasm about Glimpse skin care formulas.

I have decided to check out Glimpse for myself by attending XanGos 6th annual convention in Salt Lake City, next weekend. I will be interested in learning more about the advanced Japanese Bio-Active X3 Complex that goes into making this new skin care line and I want to learn more about whether Glimpse truly is a clean and green nontoxic skin care product.

When I get back, I will let you know what more I learn about Glimpse.

Oct 8, Is Toxic Makeup Putting Your Teenager's Health at Risk?

Every parent should view this Fox News report about the dangers of toxic chemicals in cosmetics that their teenagers are wearing. The average teenage girl uses 17 personal care items each day, many of which are laden with toxic chemicals. These substances can be absorbed through the skin and into their teens blood stream. Some can alter hormones and many could cause cancer, infertility or other serious health problems. The cosmetic industry is not government regulated and makeup company's are doing little to change this troubling scenario.

Parent need to look at the ingredients on cosmetic labels. You can also learn more about which cosmetic ingredients are toxic with this
toxic ingredient list.
